Greatland Tree Service was started in 1999 in Anchorage Alaska by David VanDehey. We started out removing beetle infested spruce trees in the Anchorage bowl for the Anchorage Fire Department and have continually improved and expanced our business to working statewide. When we started, customer service and a quality job at a fair price was our goal, and it is still our goal today. Whether you need a little pruning done, a lot cleared for a new building site or a trail cut into a remote work site, we can do that effectively and at a competitive price.
Safety comes first
Safety is also key at Greatland Tree Service. All of our employees have extensive training in safely techniques to ensure that when we climb your trees, we climb to OSHA standards and cut using ISA standard practices. This makes certain that everything comes down safely to prevent damage to structures and landscaping, even during wind storms and foul weather.
Second to none
We believe that local knowledge is also key to the challenges in Alaska, knowing the trees, how they grow in the environment, how to deal with common pests and what the trees need to be healthy. We also perform tree root injections to help keep your trees healthy and free of harmful insects. For our clients who want trees planted, we work with local nurseries to help assure that they get the right trees for the soil conditions and sunlight levels in your area and that the desired compliment to your landscaping is achieved. For our clients who need stump grinding, we offer that as well!
